 ANNEALED GLASS

 

Annealed glass refers to glass which comes from the primary factory, the “float” plant. Most architectural glass is made by melting silica sand, soda ash, dolomite, limestone, and salt cake to 2700 degrees F,and then floating it out atop a pool of molten tin in a continuous process. As it is pulled onto a long conveyer, it passes through an annealing lehr, a furnace that controls the cooling process. The flat, cooled, solidified clear stuff at the end of the line is annealed glass. This is cut into large sheets and shipped to other facilities where secondary processes are applied, including cutting-to-size, heat strengthening, tempering and insulating.

 
APPLICATION :
Laminated can be used in either interior or exterior application such as
  • Interior partition, Balustrade and Shower enclosure.
  • Glass doors (with or without frame), Windows, Spandrel areas and tables.
  • Various types of plates and cookware.
 

 LAMINATED GLASS

 

Laminated glass is made by bonding two or more pieces of glass with PVB interlayer(s) using heat and pressure to form a single unit, when broken laminated glass remains intact and prevents damage or injury unlike ordinary single glass.

 
APPLICATION :
Laminated can be used in either interior or exterior application such as
  • Sloped/Overhead glazing or Skylight

  • Safety Glazing Application,

  • Burglar/Bullet resistant glazing.

-Jewelry Stores, Banks, Airports, Aquarium, Schools, Hospitals, Hotels and Store Front Windows. - Interior Partitions or Office Buildings.

TEMPERED GLASS
 
Tempered glass is made by heating the glass approximately to 500 °C and then suddenly cooled down. After passing the tempering process, tempered glass is 5 time stronger than annealed glass. When it is broken tempered glass fractures into small fragments that reduce the probability of serious injury  as compared to annealed glass.
 
APPLICATION :
Tempered can be used in either external or internal application such as
  • External use in general construction and buildings such as Curtain wall, Facade and Skylight.
  • Interior partition, Balustrade and Shower enclosure.
  • Glass doors (with or without frame), Windows, Spandrel areas and tables.
  • Various types of plates and cookware.
  • Other uses requiring superior strength and safety properties.

 LOW-E GLASS

 

Low-E Glass is an energy saving glass; compared to ordinary clear glass it performs 25% better in reducing solar heat gain. Low-E has high visible daylight transmission and low solar heat gain for low energy consumption of artificial lights and cooling and heating load. Because in summer, the glass absorbs heat and reflects it back outside to lessen air-conditioning load, in winter heat is retained in the room to keep it warm and lessen heating load.

 REFLECTIVE GLASS
 
Reflective glass is an ordinary float glass with a metallic coating to reduce solar heat. This special metallic coating also produces a mirror effect, preventing the subject form seeing through the glass. It is mainly used in facades.

 INSULATED GLASS
 
Insulated glass is hermetically sealed combinations of two or more layer of glass separated by a dry airspace. The spacer is filled with desiccant to absorb moisture inside the unit. By combining Low-E coatings, standard and high performance tinted glasses, reflective coatings, silk-screened patterns, laminated glass products as well as filling the air space with heavy gas can substantially improve the insulating properties. A wide variety of insulating glass configurations is available to satisfy a wide range of performance and aesthetic requirements.
